Brown Hosting Daily Facebook Live Sessions to Keep Ohioans Informed on Coronavirus Efforts

CLEVELAND, OH –U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) has started hosting daily Facebook Live sessions as he works to keep Ohioans safe and healthy during the coronavirus pandemic. The daily updates are scheduled to take place every weekday at 12:45 PM on topics of interest to Ohioans. Timing and schedule changes will be posted to Brown’s Facebook page.

“I’m proud to see so many Ohioans standing together and stepping up to do the right thing during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Brown. “This is a scary and confusing time for our state, and I continue working with federal, state and local partners to get Ohio the resources and the answers we need. Every weekday, I’ll be speaking to Ohioans directly, updating them on our work and talking about the issues that are important to them. I encourage Ohioans to reach out to my office and let me know what questions are on their minds or what topics they’d like covered.”

Brown has led efforts to secure critical resources for Ohioans in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic:

Brown voted to pass the Coronavirus stimulus bill to send immediate relief to our health care system and to American workers struggling as a result of the pandemic. Brown fought to put assistance directly in the pockets of workers, expand Unemployment Insurance, provide the resources and personal protective equipment (PPE) our frontline health care workers need, and more. After President Trump and the Senate GOP produced a pro-corporate bailout at the expense of workers, Brown went to work to improve the deal and help put workers first.

Brown also helped pass a $8.3 billion Supplemental Coronavirus Spending Bill that President Trump signed into law that includes at least $15.6 million in immediate funding to help Ohio prepare for the coronavirus.

Brown has worked with his colleagues to ensure Ohio and local communities around the state have the funding they need to prevent and manage any potential cases of the coronavirus. The final package includes $8.3 billion in total funding, with $7.8 billion for immediate help to combat the coronavirus, and an additional $500 million authorization to enhance telehealth services.
