Officer Impersonator

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a newspaper delivery person was stopped by someone who appeared to be impersonating a law enforcement officer. The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. The stop was in the area of Apple Valley Dr. and Northern Spy Dr. The driver stated that the vehicle was a large black SUV with tinted windows. The vehicle was equipped with a blue dash light and siren. There were no markings on the SUV. The impersonator said that he had stopped her for speeding. He was described as a white male around 5’7”, around 160 pounds, with short black hair. He was wearing a black jacket with a patch on the front that said highway patrol. It was not an Ohio State Highway Patrol patch.
