River Otters

The river otter is charming in its affectionate displays toward others of its kind and is capable of captivating any audience fortunate enough to observe it. Yet it is a powerful predator of fish and other creatures and is active in Ohio year-round. Now, more than 30 years after the species’ reintroduction to Ohio by the ODNR Division of Wildlife, otters have expanded to many new areas of the state.
