Welch in Custody

A Jelloway area resident is in jail after a search warrant was executed by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit. John T. Welch age 66, is in custody on a probation violation and suspected drugs were seized by detectives as part of an ongoing investigation.Read full story

Rail Response Training

The Division of the State Fire Marshal announced that first responders in Ohio can now register to attend rail response training sessions that focus on preparing for and responding to rail incidents involving hazardous materials. Read full story

Governor DeWine Signs Bill Into Law

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the following bill into law: 

  • Senate Bill 10, sponsored by Senator Louis W. Blessing, III, incorporates changes in the Internal Revenue Code to make changes to the Emergency Rental Assistance program, revises an existing earmark, modifies the requirements for a temporary arts economic relief grant program, and declares an emergency.

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a new report showing that in 2021, 3.4 million people with Medicare paid $234 million in out-of-pocket costs for recommended vaccines covered under Medicare Part D.
