New Senior Housing Coming to Mount Vernon

New senior housing is coming to Mount Vernon! Last week we had the pleasure of presenting Duana Patton, CEO of the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, with a check for $200,000 of American Rescue Plan funds. These funds are a contribution towards the construction of new, affordable senior housing, with up to 8 units planned at 301 and 303 North Norton Street in Mount Vernon in the coming months.

The goal of this project according to Patton is not simply to provide a place to live but to give seniors a place that feels like home. To that end, this development, like all Area Agency on Aging developments, will include access to a service coordination specialist who will be available to assist residents in navigating support systems and securing needed services. We are proud to work with agencies throughout Knox County to provide much-needed services to our community’s seniors!
