Wildlife Wednesday – The Blue Dasher Dragonfly

Our Ohio Division of Wildlife is bringing us a winged wonder this Wildlife Wednesday.
The blue dasher dragonfly is common statewide, though it is fond of ponds, lakes, marshes and slow streams. This dragonfly has a flight period from May to October each year.  The males are very aggressive and highly territorial; when they face off it is just inches from each other with raised abdomens, darting skyward and sometimes out of sight.
