MOUNT VERNON –Judge John Thatcher found twelve guilty after arraignments and hearings were held in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court and accepted guilty pleas from five defendants.
January 30
•Jason Schrock, 42 of Danville, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 174 days suspended, and placed him on three years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and complete 10 hours of community service, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.
•Denise Monk, 55 of Mount Gilead, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine.
Assistant Director of Law, Brittany Whitney, represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in these cases.
January 31
•Blade Weible, 26 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Confine his Dog. He was sentenced to pay a $50 fine.
•Devon Carpenter, 25 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct with Persisting Behavior while being Intoxicated. He was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail.
•James Kent, 41 of Utica, was found guilty of Driving without a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to pay a $30 fine.
•Charles Highman, 36 of Cardington, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle with Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.
•Craig Davis, 53 of Utica, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.
•Brenda Ingram, 67 of Newark, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $45 fine.
•Ellen Byers, 82 of Utica, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced her to pay a $50 fine.
•Jazzmika Lynch, 36 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced her to serve 90 days in jail, with 60 days suspended and placed her on two years of probation with the following condition: complete 15 hours of community control.
•James Dean, 47 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence, Endangering Children and Failing to Stop After an Accident. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program and complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge. He was sentenced to serve 10 days in jail for each of his other charges.
•Lisa Rose, 37 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced her to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended her operator’s license for two years.

February 1
•Nicholas Pigg, 26 of Mount Vernon, plead guilty to having Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.
•James Sugrue, 41 of Mount Vernon, plead guilty to Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine and serve three days in jail.
•Andrew Rodhe, 25 of Millersburg, plead guilty to Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine
•Joshua Preece, 21 of Fredericktown, plead guilty to Driving Under Suspension and Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $220 fine for the DUS and a $35 fine for Speeding.
•Aron Conkle, 35 of Mount Vernon, plead guilty to Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine and serve 3 days in jail.
