January 27
A complainant called to report that a husband and a wife were having a verbal altercation. The wife requested that the complainant call law enforcement. A deputy made contact with all parties involved and a report was completed to be sent to the City Law Director for review.

January 28
A caller reported her ex-boyfriend was drunk and attempting to get into her apartment. The male subject was located out on the bike trail lying in the snow. The male subject was not cooperative with EMS. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and resisting arrest.

Deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Breece Road in reference to an active domestic. Upon arrival, Deputies identified a female victim and a male suspect. The male suspect barricaded himself in one of the residence bedrooms. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office requested the Mount Vernon Police Department and Ohio State Highway Patrol for assistance. Negotiation attempts were made with the male suspect. Deputies eventually took the male suspect into custody and charges are pending on the incident.

January 29
A deputy spoke to a complainant by telephone. The complainant wanted to have a report documenting that his mailbox had been removed twice.

Deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Columbus Road in reference to a business alarm. Upon arrival, Deputies observed several indicators that the business could have been broken into. An investigation was conducted by Deputies on the scene. A report was filed and the incident remains under investigation.

Deputies received a report of telecommunications harassment. Deputies advised the caller to create a log of how many times the individual calls. Deputies also made contact with the other party and advised them they had been trespassed from the caller’s property.
