On June 3, 2020, The Mount Vernon Police Department received information from the Knox County Coroner’s Office that the deceased man located in the Kokosing River on May 31, 2020 has been positively identified as Jason Wayne Taylor.
Mr. Taylor’s car had been reported abandoned at the Kokosing bike trail parking lot on May 24th and he had been listed as a missing person since that time.
The Knox County Coroner’s Office was able to compare personal information provided by Mr. Taylor’s family and other sources to provide a positive identity. No cause of death has been given at this time and is pending the results of the full autopsy. The results of the full autopsy may take several more weeks. The investigation remains open.
