We Mask Together

Due to some frequently asked questions regarding masks, we would like to provide answers in this post. Per the current health order (link to order: https://buff.ly/2zRy1yn) from the Governor’s Office and the Ohio Department of Health, employees and employers must wear masks.

The only exceptions for an individual to refrain from wearing a mask are as follows: Face coverings are prohibited in the work setting by law or regulation; Facial coverings are in violation of documented industry standards; Facial coverings are not advisable for health reasons; Facial coverings are in violation of the business’s documented safety policies; Facial coverings are not required when the employee works alone in an assigned work area; OR There is a functional (practical) reason for an employee not to wear a facial covering in the workplace. In these instances where an employee meets an exemption requirement, the business needs to be able to provide written documentation as to which employees are not masking and their reason why. This documentation should not violate any health information privacy. Simply stating that “the individual is not masking for health reasons” is sufficient. This health order is for the entire state of Ohio, and Knox County is not exempt.

Per this health order, patrons are not required to wear masks inside a business, however, businesses can decide on their own whether they will require patrons to mask.
Let’s all keep up the good work and continue to protect the health and safety of our fellow Ohioans. #OhioMasksTogether
