Duties:
• Facilitates prevention/education services in area schools.
• Communicates accurate, age-appropriate, and relevant information to students.
• Assist in the development of current and long-term programmatic goals and objectives.
• Meets billing and documentation requirements defined by Program Coordinator and/or Executive Director, i.e. mileage reimbursement documentation, classroom data, and other billing requirements.
• Continually participates in learning opportunities for growth of skill and knowledge, (content updates, continued education, and skill-building trainings).
• Responsible to work collaboratively with others and accept assignments on an as-needed basis to meet all programmatic goals and funding obligations.
• Represent the Freedom Center within the community with professionalism and respect for teachers, administrators, and students.
• Work as a team member with all staff at the Freedom Center, treating fellow staff members with respect and sensitivity to the requirements of their jobs as evidenced by a willingness to assist other team members, mutual problem-solving and program development, etc.
• Comply with all agency policies and procedures and directives of the immediate supervisor and administrations.
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education and/or Health and Human Services field or other related fields. Additional specialized training and certification in education/prevention preferable.
License: Must hold appropriate licensure/credential as required by the State of Ohio to provide prevention services (CDA, RA, OCPS, OCPC): OR develop a professional development plan to work toward credentialing within 30 days of hire.
Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience providing prevention/education services. Experience with mental health, drug/alcohol, and working with vulnerable populations is required.
Skills: The ability to provide and develop services in a classroom setting, the ability to communicate articulately and effectively, and a strong commitment to the coordination of services and working in a team environment.
This is a seasonal position, requiring 40 hours per week during the school year. No
summer hours.
