On June 27, Trooper Jason Phillips of the Mount Gilead Post was critically injured as the result of an on-duty motor vehicle crash on Interstate 71 in Morrow County. Trooper Phillips remains in critical, but stable, condition at the Ohio State University Medical Center. While the crash occurred in Morrow County, Troopers like Jason who are assigned to the Mount Gilead Post also provide coverage to Knox County.
As anyone can imagine, the expenses for the family to remain with Trooper Phillips during this time can take a toll. For those who wish to make a monetary donation, the State Highway Patrol Federal Credit Union has established a benefit account.
