Eighth Annual 12-Hour Free Halloween Classic Movie Marathon

Get ready for some chills, spooky fun and creepy foods at the Eighth Annual Free Halloween Classic Movie Marathon on Saturday, October 27, Noon until Midnight, at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon.

“Ghosts” will be this year’s theme. Put on your favorite costume and see what surprises are in store for you this year in our “Haunted Hallway.” Enjoy free treats, lots of Halloween decorations, free hot dogs, sloppy joes, popcorn, beverages and more throughout the program. Or, take a walk on the wild side and try our edible bug bar!

After the main library closes at 5:00 p.m., the entrance in the back parking lot will be open. Security staff will be present. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

The 12-hour marathon will feature the following classic (or destined to be a classic) films to put chills up your spine. Guests are welcome to stay for one movie or all six!

Noon-2 pm: The Ghost & Mr. Chicken (1966) (G)

2-4 pm: Poltergeist (1982) (PG)

4-6 pm: Beetlejuice (1988) (PG)/ 30th Anniversary Edition

6-8 pm: The Others (2001) (PG-13)

8-10 pm: Winchester (2018) (PG-13)

10-Midnight: The Grudge (2004) (PG-13)
