Troopers Seize $12,740 Worth of Cocaine in Wood County

LAKE TOWNSHIP – Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers filed felony drug charges against two men after a traffic stop in Wood County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized 140 grams of cocaine valued at approximately $12,740.  

On September 22, 2018, at 3:00 p.m., troopers stopped a rented 2018 Chevrolet Equinox with New York registration for an improper lane change violation on the Ohio Turnpike. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the contraband.  

The driver, Ricardo Robinson, 37, of Atlanta, and passenger, Rian Hairston, 40, of Detroit, were incarcerated in the Wood County Justice Center and charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine, both first-degree felonies. 

If convicted, each could face up to 22 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.
