Firefighters Rescue Occupant of Vehicle in Flooded Area

CH411, R415, E413, G412, and G414 were dispatched at 10:13 pm on Tuesday evening to the 20000 block of Knox Lake Road in Berlin Township on the report of a vehicle in the water with a person trapped.

Upon arrival to the scene, CH411 found a vehicle on the roadway several hundred yards into the flooded area with swift water. Three firefighters geared up in water rescue suits and worked to safely rescue the uninjured occupant of the vehicle.

The area west of the bridge on Knox Lake Road between OH-95 and Mishey is still flooded at this time. Mishey Road just south of Knox Lake Road has water over the bridge.

The FCFD had a total of 17 firefighters and one cadet respond to the call. All FCFD units were back in quarters by 11:09 pm
