Late last night MVHS administration was made aware of a social media post that contained a picture of multiple weapons and a threat to students warning them to not got to school tomorrow @MHS. This WAS NOT a threat directed towards the MVCSD or MVHS. After administration was informed about the picture circulating on social media, it was determined that the person posting this picture was a student in Virginia and authorities had already been alerted and were following up on the post. Administration worked with the superintendent, school resource officer, and the MVPD to determine if this was a viable threat and also contacted parents and students who had passed on the information, thinking it was a threat towards MVHS.
The administration is very thankful for the willingness of students and parents to share this information. It is encouraged to share this information with administration and authorities before reposting and sending information on social media.
