The Ohio History Connection’s old-building experts, the Building Doctors, are coming to Mount Vernon April 27-28 for a free Building Doctor Clinic for area old-building owners, cosponsored by Main Street Mount Vernon, Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Knox County Chamber of Commerce, Knox County Landmarks Foundation and Woodward Development Corporation.
The clinic includes a free seminar on care and maintenance of older buildings, followed by free on-site consultations to examine old-building problems and prescribe cures.

Seminar: Thursday, April 27, 2017, 7–9 p.m., Mount Vernon Grand Hotel,
12 Public Square, Mount Vernon

Our seminar will help you solve common old-building problems. The Building Doctors are experts on old-building maintenance and repairs, as well as bringing buildings built before 1955 up-to-date while preserving their historic features. If you own an older home or building or are involved in care and maintenance of one, don’t miss this informative seminar, including ways to solve common problems like peeling paint or flaking plaster, wet basements, deteriorating masonry, window work and other old-building topics.

The seminar is free, but you must register in advance. To register, visit building-doctor.org or call toll free 800.499.2470.

Consultations by Appointment: Friday, April 28, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Have an old-building problem that you aren’t sure how to solve? Ask for a visit from a Building Doctor. On Friday, April 28, the Ohio History Connection’s Building Doctors will visit buildings by appointment to examine problems and prescribe cures. If your home or building was built before 1955, has a problem that you aren’t sure how to solve, and is within five miles of the center of Mount Vernon, ask for a free on-site consultation when you register for the seminar. You must attend the seminar on Thursday evening to qualify for a consultation on Friday. If you ask for a consultation and your property is one of the 10 the Building Doctors will visit, the local cosponsor will contact you the week of your clinic to set up an appointment.
