Friends of the Library Christmas Gift Stockings Silent Auction Going on Now through Weds, Dec 16


Looking for the perfect holiday gift and want to support a great cause at the same time? The Friends of the Library Christmas Stocking Silent Auction is going on now through end of business on Wednesday, December 16, at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street.

All items are on display on the main floor of the library. Stockings are numbered and include the following:

  1. A night on the town featuring a one-night stay courtesy of the Grand Hotel, a spa treatment at Aesthetics Spa, a gift certificate to Dean’s Jewelry, and two certificates to Panera Bread. (Total over $250 in value)
  2. A birthday party sponsored by Gigglenastics ($200 value).
  3. A car care package including oil change at Monroe Muffler Brake and Service as well as car care supplies courtesy of Auto Zone.
  4. A classic stocking provided by Athens Greek Restaurant containing mugs, gift cards, and coupons.
  5. A selection of decorative items from Creative Images.
  6. An autographed copy of “The Sparrow,” by Author Mary Doria Russell and a lifetime membership to the Friends of the Library.
  7. An autographed copy of “Children of God,” by Author Mary Doria Russell and a gift certificate to La Paloma on South Main.
  8. An autographed copy of Jim Butchers novel, “Turncoat,” and a pizza certificate from Dirkos.

  13. A stocking with a gift card and selection of certificates for tasty treats courtesy of Dairy Queen.

Winning bidders can pick up their items at the main library on December 19-20. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library to support public library programs in Mount Vernon, Danville, Fredericktown and Gambier.
