Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is providing an update on additional steps it has taken that will lead to more infant formula available in the U.S. under the agency’s recent increased flexibilities.

Governor DeWine Signs Executive Order 2022-11D

(CEDARVILLE, Ohio)  – June 24, 2022 – Today, Governor DeWine signed Executive Order 2022-11D, the Emergency Adoption of Rule 3701-47-07 of the Ohio Administrative Code by the Ohio Department of Health.   

The executive order permits the Ohio Department of Health to immediately adopt Rule 3701-47-07 which sets rules for Senate Bill 23 – commonly referred to as the Heartbeat Bill, which was signed into law by Governor DeWine in 2019.Read full story

Governor DeWine Issues Reprieve

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Today, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued the following reprieve of execution:

  • Quisi Bryan, who was scheduled to be executed on October 26, 2022.  The new date of execution has been moved to January 7, 2026.

Governor DeWine is issuing this reprieve due to ongoing problems involving the willingness of pharmaceutical suppliers to provide drugs to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), pursuant to DRC protocol, without endangering other Ohioans.… Read full story

Governor DeWine Signs Bills Into Law

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the following bills into law: 

House Bill 193, sponsored by Representatives Al Cutrona and Gail K. Pavliga, regards electronic prescriptions and schedule II-controlled substances, terminology related to overdose reversal drugs, a pilot program for dispensing controlled substances in lockable containers, out-of-state physician consultations, and pediatric respite care programs.Read full story

Petition Certified for Proposed Constitutional Amendment to Ensure “Medical Right to Refuse” in Ohio

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — The Ohio Attorney General’s Office today accepted a petition seeking to add new language to the state constitution in support of an individual’s right to refuse medical services.

On June 16, the Attorney General’s Office received the written petition proposing to add Section 22 to Article 1 of the Ohio Constitution, “Medical Right to Refuse,” along with a summary of the measure, in accordance with the provisions of Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Section 3519.01(A).Read full story
