FBI Announces Results of Nationwide Sex Trafficking Operation

Operation Cross Country XII Leads to Identification/Location of Adolescent Victims

The FBI, working with its state and local partners during two weeks in August, identified and located 84 minor victims of child sex trafficking and child sexual exploitation offenses and located 37 actively missing children during a nationwide enforcement campaign, dubbed “Operation Cross Country.”

Pain Management Physician Convicted of Unlawfully Distributing Opioids

 

A federal jury in the Southern District of Ohio convicted an Ohio physician on Friday for unlawfully distributing opioids from his Martin’s Ferry clinic.

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Thomas Romano, 72, of Wheeling, West Virginia, owned and operated a self-named pain management clinic where his clients traveled hundreds of miles to obtain prescriptions for opioids and other controlled substances.

Governor DeWine Increases Ohio Violent Crime Reduction Grant Program to $100 Million

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced today that he is increasing the amount of violent crime reduction grant funding available to local law enforcement agencies by $42 million. 

The funds added today increase the total amount of money available to law enforcement through the Ohio Violent Crime Reduction Grant Program from $58 million to $100 million. Read full story
