AG Yost’s Statement on Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman Pleading Guilty to Telecommunications Fraud

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost issued the following statement today on Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, both men pled guilty to felonious telecommunications fraud.

“Voter intimidation won’t be tolerated in Ohio,” Yost said. “My Robocall Enforcement Unit, along with BCI, assisted in the investigation and was able to partner with Prosecutor O’Malley to shut down these two people who were trying to commit voter intimidation.”Read full story

Governor DeWine Announces $10.2 Million in Ohio Court Backlog Reduction Program Awards

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced that 51 local courts will receive a total of $10.2 million in grant funding to help reduce accumulated backlogs of pending court proceedings.

Governor DeWine is awarding the funding as part of the Ohio Court Backlog Reduction Program, which launched earlier this year to help local courts reduce the time-to-disposition of pending cases, remove barriers to the timely resolution of cases, and apply creative solutions to improve case flow. Read full story

401(k) Limit Increases to $22,500 for 2023, IRA Limit Rises to $6,500

Video Gaming may be Associated With Better Cognitive Performance in Children

Additional research necessary to parse potential benefits and harms of video games on the developing brain.

A study of nearly 2,000 children found that those who reported playing video games for three hours per day or more performed better on cognitive skills tests involving impulse control and working memory compared to children who had never played video games.Read full story
