Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Centerburg on a possible suicidal male. A complainant called in stating that her live-in boyfriend was threatening suicide by cutting his wrists then left the residence on foot with an electrical extension cord to hang himself.Read full story

Governor DeWine Announces Expanded Access to Teen Driver Training

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – December 21, 2022 – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced today expanded access to teen driver training for low-income Ohio families through the new “Drive to Succeed” scholarship program.

Administered by the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) and available via grants to local governmental agencies, teens selected for a scholarship by grantee agencies would attend an eligible Ohio-approved driving school in their area at little to no cost.Read full story

WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 20, 2022 – Today, U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Alex Padilla (D-CA) reintroduced a Senate Resolution to declare racism a public health crisis. Brown, Booker, and then-Senator Kamala Harris first introduced the legislation in July 2020, and Brown reintroduced it again with Senators Booker and Padilla in April 2021.Read full story
