Governor DeWine Announces Approval of Two State Projects Set to Create 215 Jobs, $25 Million in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of two projects that will create 215 new jobs and retain 353 jobs statewide.  

During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. The projects are expected to result in more than $15 million in new payroll and spur $25 million in investments across Ohio.  

SOUTHEAST 

American Heavy Plate Solutions, LLC, Ohio Township (Monroe County), expects to create 15 full-time positions, generating more than $700,000 in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Ohio Township. American Heavy Plates supplies made-to-order heavy carbon and alloy steel plates and finished parts focused on rapid production, processing, and distribution of parts for various industrial and infrastructure applications. The proposed project includes expanding its existing facility, allowing the company to increase product offerings by expanding current production and heat-treating capacity. TCA approved a 1.011 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

NORTHEAST 

Team Wendy, LLC, City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga County), expects to create 200 full-time positions, generating $15 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Cleveland. Team Wendy is a protective gear company and global supplier of helmet systems that protect against impact-related injuries for the military, law enforcement, search and rescue, and adventure sports. The proposed project includes the expansion of the company’s existing facility to increase production capacity and house additional employees. TCA approved a 1.972 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
