Reporter Resources for One-Year Anniversary of East Palestine Train Derailment

 

(EAST PALESTINE, Ohio) — On the evening of February 3, 2023, 38 railcars on a Norfolk Southern train derailed and caught fire in the village of East Palestine in Columbiana County. In the year since the incident, the wreckage and contaminated soil and water have been removed. Today, monitoring of the air and water is ongoing to make sure the village continues to be safe. Health support – both physical and mental health – continues to be made available for the people of East Palestine.
