Twenty-Seven Found Guilty in Mount Vernon Municipal Court – December 8, 2023

 

MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found twenty-seven guilty after hearings were held in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court between December 4 – December 8, 2023.

 

December 4

• Nicholas Ross, 45, of Centerburg, was found guilty of menacing by stalking.
• Dawn Stanley, 46 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of disorderly conduct.
• Paul Scott, Jr., 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of receiving stolen property and possessing criminal tools.
• Joshua Annis, 30, of Centerburg, was found guilty of prohibition against violating zoning resolution.
• Dakota Gibson, 25, of Hebron, was found guilty of possession of marihuana.
• Tyler Saum, 28, of Newark, was found guilty of reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
• David Neale, 65, of Warsaw, was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or a drug of abuse.
• Phillip Murphy, 45, of Powell, was found guilty of having physical control of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or a drug of abuse.
• Adam McClurg, 46, of Howard, was found guilty of having physical control of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or a drug of abuse.
• Kevin Murphy, 64, of Howard, was found guilty of speeding.
Assistant Law Director Steve Potts prosecuted Stanley, Scott Jr., and Gibson cases and First Assistant Law Director Brittany Whitney prosecuted the other cases on behalf of the City of Mount Vernon, the State of Ohio, and the Villages of Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown, and Gambier.

 

December 5
• Brittany Christine, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, falsification, and obstructing official business.
• Connell Frazee, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of domestic violence, aggravated menacing, and resisting arrest.
• Sarah Fletcher, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of failing to confine dog.
• Joshua Linger, 42, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of disorderly conduct in the presence of EMS personnel.
• James Davis, 49, of Lexington, was found guilty of driving under an FRA suspension.
• Charlene Whightsel-Barnette, 52, of Reynoldsburg, was found guilty of violating stop sign.
• Janet Thompson, 65, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of speeding.
• Suzanne Monnin, 60, of Granville, was found guilty of speeding.
• Anthony Torress, 19, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of speeding.
• Robert Lawhorn, 40, of Mansfield, was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle with fictitious plates and expired plates.

First Assistant Law Director Brittany Whitney prosecuted the cases on behalf of the City of Mount Vernon, the State of Ohio, and the Villages of Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown, and Gambier.

 

December 6

• Jason Jacques, 54, of Columbus, was found guilty of speeding.

Assistant Law Director Steve Potts prosecuted these cases on behalf of the State of Ohio.

 

December 8

• Leanna Davis, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of three counts of failure to confine dog.
• Stevie Harris, 49, of Columbus, was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle while driving under suspension.
• Wesley Addy, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle while under an FRA suspension.
• Rebecca Jablonski, 40, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of a temporary instrument permit violation.
• Nathan Landis, 41, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle without a required license and speeding.
• Hannah Rudder, 20, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle with former owner’s plates and speeding.

First Assistant Law Director Brittany Whitney prosecuted Harris and Addy cases and Assistant Law Director Steve Potts prosecuted the other cases on behalf of the City of Mount Vernon, the State of Ohio, and the Villages of Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown, and Gambier.
