Roberts Funeral Home and Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens are hiring for a Family Service Advisor. Roberts Funeral Home/Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens/Remembrance Cremation Center is the only funeral home, cemetery, crematory combination in Knox County. This gives us the unique ability to provide families with all of their options at one time with one person under one roof.
This unique position requires a unique person but also offers a unique opportunity to earn high income. The Advisor will be responsible for assisting families with their pre need cemetery / funeral arrangements, immediate need cemetery arrangements, and aftercare program.
Educating families of their end of life options is vital in today’s market due to the many options now available. Helping them navigate and eventually deciding what is best for them and their family is a valuable service we provide. According to a study done by the Wirthlin Group, 80% of the U.S. population over 40 believes that pre arranging is a good idea and less than 20% over the age of 65 have made any plans. With 10,000 Baby Boomers turning 65 every day, this is becoming a very large market.
The next step in the process is assisting our funeral directors as we serve families who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The Advisors role is to help families decide on permanent placement and designing a meaningful memorial to honor their loved one. We consider this process to be “Healing Starts Here” and is the first step in a healthy grieving process.
Finally, the Advisor will continue to work with the family for many months implementing our Families First Aftercare program. Beginning with a condolence visit and packet of helpful information, the aftercare program includes several mailings with information about continued grief recovery and additional consultations with the Advisor. We are the only organization in the area to provide such a comprehensive aftercare program.

Pay: $40,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
