Offenses

February 22
• An officer handled a harassment call by phone. Bond was revoked per the Mount Vernon Prosecutor’s office.

• An officer was dispatched to East High Street in reference to a runaway juvenile. A report was taken. Nothing further at this time.

• An officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of North Sandusky Street in reference to a threats complaint. An investigation is pending.

February 23
• An officer responded to the Knox County Service Center in reference ot a harassment complaint. This incident is currently under investigation.

• The Mount Vernon Police Department assisted the Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies in making contact with Preston L. Coss at Walmart, at 1575 Coshocton Avenue, who was sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle in the parking lot. As law enforcement was making contact with Preston, he put the vehicle in drive and fled the area at a high rate of speed. The Mount Vernon Police Department assisted the Knox County Deputies in pursuing Preston. A short time later, Preston was apprehended in the Fredericktown area and transported to the Knox County Jail.

February 25
• Units were dispatched to the apartments located on Shalimar Drive for a person possibly overdosing. The person was evaluated by Mount Vernon Paramedics and refused transportation to the hospital. Nothing further.

• An officer responded to a theft complaint on Shirley Avenue. A report was taken. Nothing further at this time.

February 26
• An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Gambier Street for a domestic violence. Cody Brewer was charged with Domestic Violence ORC 2919.25(A) and Assault ORC 2903.13(A).

• Units were dispatched for a disturbance at Moss Rose bar, located at 109 West Ohio Avenue. The person was removed from the bar and trespassed from the property. At 1:35 AM, the person returned to the bar and caused another disturbance. The person was charged with criminal trespass. Nothing further.

• An officer was dispatched to 855 Coshocton Avenue in reference to a shoplifting complaint. A warrant was issued for two individuals.

• Georgeanna Chapman was cited for starting and backing vehicles.

February 23
• Rebecca M. Hubbell was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
• John W. Petty was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
• Jessica L. Wicker was cited for child support suspension.
• Holly M. Johnson was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
• Evan S. Hogg was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
• Micah G. Rex was cited for 25mph except for State Route outside business districts and alleys.
• Holly M. Strunk was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.

February 24
• Joseph Stanford was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
• Sean R. Alberts was cited for expired license plates.
• Andrew W. Marsell was cited for starting and backing vehicles.

February 25
• Cody R. Brewer was charged with assault and domestic violence.
• Sarah Weintraub was cited for OVI – driving under the influence and refused a chemical test with previous.
• Steven Thompson was cited for expired license plates and DUS – FRA and random verification suspension.

February 26
• Amber D. Barker was charged with criminal trespass.
• Michael E. Kupiec was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
• James E. Witt Jr. was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.
