Edwin Hall Pleads Guilty to Felonious Assault, Trespass, Sentenced to 3 Years 11 Month

Edwin J. Hall, 57, of Mount Vernon, today entered a plea to felonious assault and trespass in a habitation from an October, 2018 incident. Hall burst into a home on Sunset Street in Mount Vernon while the residents were inside, and later assaulted a Mount Vernon Police Officer, causing the officer serious injuries.
Judge Wetzel sentenced Hall to 3 years and 11 months in prison for the offenses. Hall was previously found incompetent to stand trial and spend almost 3 years in Twin Valley Behavioral Hospital for what psychologists described as drug-induced mental conditions.
Having been restored to competency, Hall’s sentence means he will serve an additional year in prison, and then will be on post-release control for up to 3 years following release.
