Backyard Macro Photography Tips

Wildflowers like this hepatica make a great macro subject but consider macro photography an opportunity to go on a scavenger hunt.
Try leaves and greenery, the occasional bug, and even textures. Keep your eyes open and see what inspires you. Be mindful of the wind
Sometimes you have to wait for a lull in the wind. You can also try to block the breeze with your body.
Be aware of your shutter speed. You don’t want it to be less than 1/250 of a second. This will help you to freeze your subject. With macro photography, even the slightest movement will spoil the photo. In the next post, I’ll be talking about the right gear and technique for macro photography.
