(CINCINNATI) — The owner of a Cincinnati-area window company was indicted Wednesday on 49 charges for allegedly stealing almost $45,000 from customers, including six elderly victims.
“This guy pocketed deposits and walked off without an explanation, leaving customers in the dark,” Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said. “We’re going to pull back the blinds to expose his scheme and make him answer to the people he’s cheated.”
Joshua Lee Swann, 44, is accused of failing to deliver supplies, promised services or refunds after accepting down payments from 24 customers in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Those customers say he stole a total of $44,435 from July 2017 through May 2019.
Swann is the owner of Window City of Cincinnati, located in West Chester, and Custom Window Solutions in Lexington, Kentucky.
The charges against Swann include a second-degree felony count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, 40 felony counts of theft and eight misdemeanor counts of theft.
The Economic Crimes Unit, part of Yost’s Consumer Protection Section, is prosecuting the case in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.
