Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine Open Ohio State Fair

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine today kicked off the Ohio State Fair along with several of their family members.

“The State Fair is all about family, and it’s an opportunity to show all that’s great about Ohio,” Governor DeWine said. “There’s something going on virtually every minute of the Ohio State Fair, and we invite everyone to come out and enjoy it.”

Following an opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Cardinal Gate, Governor DeWine toured the fairgrounds, including visits with livestock exhibitors and a visit to the butter sculpture (a tribute to Apollo 11). Governor DeWine also joined First Lady Fran DeWine in the Taste of Ohio Café, where Mrs. DeWine made fresh pizzas with kids at the Ohio Proud Kitchen. The Governor and First Lady also took two of their grandchildren for a ride on the SkyGlider.
