Women’s Recovery House Housewarming

[MOUNT VERNON, OH] Mental Health and Recovery for Licking and Knox Counties (MHR) is proud to announce the opening of our Women’s Recovery House.  We will be hosting a housewarming party, open to the public, on March 7th from 5-7 pm at 419 Wooster Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio. If visitors would like to bring a gift for the house, please bring household cleaning supplies. Parking in the driveway may become full, so additional parking in the lot across the street at Whispering Hills is available.

Recovery housing provides a safe, healthy, drug and alcohol-free living environment that helps build a strong foundation in recovery. With a focus on peer support, residents share a commitment to sobriety, by offering each other support, stability, and encouragement. The house will be monitored by a live-in house manager, employed by Behavioral Healthcare Partners, who provide accountability and support in accessing community services, employment, and the greater recovering community.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for women who are committed to their recovery to have a safe, sober environment that provides support for as long as they need,” stated Kay Spergel, MHR Executive Director. This house is not considered transitional housing, but a permanent residence. Residents of the home may choose to live there for as long as they like.

The Mental Health and Recovery Board is responsible for funding programs at every level from prevention to residential recovery services. For more information on all programs and services please call 740-522-1234 or visit our website at www.mhrlk.org.
