NIH-funded trial offers hope for disease with limited treatment options.

CHILLICOTHE – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a substance exposure at the Ross Correctional Institution (RCI) in Chillicothe. The facility is secure with no safety threat to the public.
Today at approximately 9:10 a.m., the Ross Correctional Institution reported an inmate with possible signs of a drug overdose.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning that cases of a rare but serious infection of the genitals and area around the genitals have been reported with the class of type 2 diabetes medicines called sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors.
