Opening Day for Heart of Ohio Trail April 7

April 7th is the opening day for the Heart of Ohio Trail. Please join the Friends of the Heart of Ohio Trail as they host a day of family fun at the Memorial Park trailhead (just of Rt. 3/36 on Rt. 314). The Rails to Trails Conservancy Opening Day for Trails is a nationwide celebration of local rail trails and how they bring life to communities and their residents.

9:00 AM — Hospitality Tent opens at Memorial Park trailhead.
10:00 AM — A step back in time. Take a casual stroll on the HOOT with Gloria Parsisson. Hear the stories of how the railroad changed life in Centerburg.
11:00 AM — Uncovering nature on the trail. Experience the first signs of spring with naturalists Jean and Tim Tahyi on a casual nature walk on the trail.
12:00 PM — Cycle the trail. Join the Heart of Ohio Cyclopaths on a 26-mile bike ride to the CA&C Deport in Mount Vernon on the HOOT.
3:00 AM — Uncovering nature on the trail. Experience the first signs of spring with naturalists Terri and Jim Heironimus on a casual nature walk on the trail.
4:00 PM — Hospitality tent closes at Memorial Park trailhead
