Build a Better World Adult Summer Reading Program Schedule of Events for Main Library Mount Vernon

The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will host the 2017 Build a Better World Adult Summer Library Program through July 8.

All programs at main library, 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon, unless otherwise listed below:

 

Free Zumba at Schnormeier Event Center, Ariel-Foundation Park, Thursdays, 2:00 p.m., June 1-29                       

Free Yoga Fridays, June 2-30, 10:00 a.m.

Virtual Reality, Thursday, June 1, 1:00-3:00 p.m. First 30 participants to register and attend will receive free Google Cardboard.

One Stitch at a Time! (Upcycled ties) Sewing with Lisa, Tuesday, June 6, 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.  Bring a tie or two. Sewing machines provided.

Silver Screeners Free Classic Movie Matinee featuring Orson Wells all-time classic, “Citizen Kane” (NR), Sunday, June 11, 2:00 p.m.

Refreshments provided.

Free Movie Night featuring Academy Award winning musical “La La Land (PG 13), Wednesday, June 14, 6:30 p.m. Refreshments provided.

Keep Calm & Color On Adult & Teens coloring program, Thursday, June 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Refreshments provided.

Adult Book Discussion, “Seveneves” by Neal Stephenson, Tuesday, June 20, 7:00 p.m. Refreshments provided.

Participants who attend five adult summer reading programs or activities are eligible to select a prize at the main circulation desk.
