COLUMBUS, OHIO (Nov. 15, 2022) – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) scheduled two public hearings and comment deadlines regarding provisions of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021.
Specifically, the IIJA amended the federal Public Utility Regulatory Policy Act (PURPA) by adding to the list of standards that require state regulatory agencies to determine for implementation. There were two PURPA standards added by the IIJA, one relating to demand-response practices and one relating to electric vehicle charging programs.
The PUCO will host two public hearings and collect written comments on each topic. The hearing dates and comment deadlines are as follows:
Demand Response: initial and reply comments are due January 10 and January 24, 2023. A public hearing will take place February 8, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at the PUCO offices in Columbus.
Electric Vehicle Charging: initial and reply comments are due February 1 and February 16, 2023. A public hearing will take place February 22, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at the PUCO offices in Columbus.
Written comments should be addressed to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, 180 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215. Comments should reference case docket numbers 22-1024-AU-COI (demand response) or 22-1025-AU-COI (EV charging).
