(Washington, D.C., Friday, March 6, 2020) – Yesterday, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced a proposed rule that will strengthen the way states serve Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients through Employment and Training. Governor, Health Director Announce COVID-19 Testing Protocol

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton, M.D., MPH today announced the state’s protocol for maximizing coronavirus (COVID-19) testing resources now that in-state testing is available.

Ohio Departments of Aging and Health Provide Recommendations to Long-Term Care Facilities to Prevent the Spread of Germs

Columbus, Ohio – As part of the State of Ohio’s ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) within long-term care facilities, the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) are encouraging facilities to exercise recommendations to prevent the spread of germs as provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

* DO NOT carry your social security card on your person
* CHANGE passwords every couple months containing information with bank accounts and credit cards
* DO NOT give out information over the phone and always check with your financial institution or cardholders if a problem has been reported with your account
* Get your mail EVERY DAY and shred any mail that has identifiers such as your date of birth, social security number and account numbers

According to the Ohio Revised Code IDENTITY FRAUD is any person that is trying to use, obtain or possess your personal identifying information such as your social security number, date of birth, address or credit card/debit card information with the intent to use that information to identify themselves with your personal information.
