WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 14, 2024 –  Today, U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and J.D. NHTSA Urges Drivers Not to Use Aftermarket Steering Wheel Decals After Another Injury

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is again warning consumers not to use or buy aftermarket steering wheel decals after learning of another driver who suffered severe injuries from the decorative emblem during a crash. 

The driver was involved in a crash in which the air bag deployed and sent two pieces of a metal aftermarket decal with rhinestones into the person’s face and neck. Read full story

Compliance Audit Identifies $236,479 in Improper Medicaid Payments and Interest to Franklin County Ambulance Service

 

COLUMBUS – State auditors identified $210,585 in improper Medicaid payments over a two-year period to a Columbus ambulance service, Auditor of State Keith Faber announced Tuesday.

With added interest, the Auditor of State’s Office is recommending repayment of $236,479 from Amerikare LLC, a licensed medical transportation organization, as part of a recently completed compliance examination.Read full story

Ohio Traffic Safety Office Announces Free Advanced Driver Training Summer Series for Teen Drivers

COLUMBUS – May 13, 2024 –  Free hands-on training is available this summer for teen drivers in Ohio to practice crash avoidance techniques and gain the experience necessary to become safer drivers. The Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) is partnering with three Advanced Driver Training programs to increase access to these specially designed classes that address the leading causes of teen crashes.Read full story

Governor DeWine and Fairgrounds Team Break Ground on Expo 2050 Projects

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)— Today, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and representatives from the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds broke ground on two buildings to revitalize the fairgrounds in Columbus, the Ohio Showcase Building and the new agriculture building.

Governor DeWine Orders Flags Lowered in Honor of Euclid Police Officer Jacob Derbin

 

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)— In honor of the life and service of Euclid Police Officer Jacob Derbin, Governor Mike DeWine has ordered the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio to be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Cuyahoga County and at the Ohio Statehouse, the Vern Riffe Center, and the Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus today until sunset on the day of his funeral.Read full story
