Governor DeWine Announces Members of Ohio School Bus Safety Working Group

 

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)— Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced 13 individuals who will serve on his newly formed Ohio School Bus Safety Working Group. 

Governor DeWine announced the creation of the working group last week following the death of 11-year-old Aiden Clark, a Northwestern Local School District student who was killed when another vehicle collided with his school bus in Clark County.Read full story

Transportation Security Administration Seeks Comments on Proposed Regulation Regarding Mobile Driver’s Licenses and REAL ID-Compliant Identification

WASHINGTON – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would allow the continued use of mobile driver’s licenses (mDL) at TSA airport security checkpoints beyond the 2025 REAL ID implementation deadline.

This proposed rule would allow for continued use of mDLs at participating TSA checkpoints after May 7, 2025, when passengers will be required to show REAL ID-compliant identification.Read full story

Businesses Must Electronically File Form 8300, Report of Cash Payments Over $10,000, Beginning January 1, 2024

 

WASHINGTON —The Internal Revenue Service today announced that starting Jan. 1, 2024, businesses are required to electronically file (e-file) Form 8300, Report of Cash Payments Over $10,000, instead of filing a paper return. This new requirement follows final regulations amending e-filing rules for information returns, including Forms 8300.Read full story

Ohio Launches Venture Capital Programs for Tech-Based Companies

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – August 29, 2023 – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik announced the availability of approximately $111 million to support Ohio tech-based companies. 

Two new funds – the Ohio Early Stage Focus Fund and Ohio Venture Fund – will help increase the amount of early-stage capital invested in Ohio technology-based companies, accelerate the growth of high-potential companies, and create a climate that supports the development, retention, and attraction of technology companies in Ohio.  Read full story
