New Performance Audit Calls for Improved Planning and Prioritization for ODNR’s Inland Lakes Dredging Program

 

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) should establish a formal process for prioritizing and planning the systematic removal of sediment from the state’s inland lakes, Auditor of State Keith Faber announced Tuesday.

The recommendation was included in a review of ODNR’s dredging program, which works to maintain the water quality of Ohio’s inland lakes and water depths to allow boating and other recreational activities.Read full story

USDA Encourages Rice Farmers to Prepare for New Rice Production Program

Departments of Labor and Health and Human Services Announce New Efforts to Combat Exploitative Child Labor

Announcements Include New Inter-Agency Child Labor Task Force

Since 2018, the Department of Labor has seen a 69 percent increase in children being employed illegally by companies. In the last fiscal year, the department found 835 companies it investigated had employed more than 3,800 children in violation of labor laws.
