...Dangerous Heat and Humidity Expected This Weekend...

.Dangerous temperatures will develop over the local area this
weekend. Heat index values will climb into the 90s today but are
expected to exceed 100 degrees most areas both Saturday and
Sunday. 100 degrees is the minimum criteria needed for a Heat
Advisory. On Saturday...the highest heat index values are expected
across Northwest Ohio where an Excessive Heat Warning may
eventually be needed. Heat index values in the Toledo area could
exceed 105 degrees for an hour or two. By Sunday the warmest
readings are expected to shift further east into Northeast Ohio.
Additional Heat Advisories are likely for Sunday. Keep in mind
that conditions will vary locally with urban areas often seeing
heat index values higher than nearby rural areas. Similarly...it
may be slightly cooler near Lake Erie.

through the evening hours. It is possible heat index values
could briefly exceed 105 degrees in Northwest Ohio and larger

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that the combination of high temperatures

heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an
air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on
relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside.
When possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work...the occupational safety
