BCI Assists Law Enforcement in Tracking Online Sources of School Threats

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Following the arrest of a 16-year-old by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Department for five counts of inducing panic and one count of making a terroristic threat, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini, and Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader, today announced that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) cyber crimes and criminal intelligence analysts helped law enforcement identify where the threats were coming from online.  Read full story

PUCO Approves Rate Adjustment for Ohio Gas Company

COLUMBUS, OHIO (Feb. 21, 2018) – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) today approved Ohio Gas Company’s application to increase its distribution rates and charges for natural gas service. This is Ohio Gas’s first distribution rate increase since 1985.

The Commission authorized Ohio Gas to increase its distribution rates by $2.4 million and established a rate of return of 9 percent.Read full story

Troopers Seize $12,142 Worth of Marijuana in Van Wert County

On February 14, 2018, troopers stopped a rented 2017 Toyota Camry with Indiana registration for a speed violation on U.S. 30 in Van Wert County. During interaction with the driver, troopers detected an odor of burnt and raw marijuana.
