Attorney General DeWine Offers Charitable Giving Tips Following Hurricane Harvey, Texas Flooding

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today offered advice to help Ohioans make wise charitable contributions and avoid scams following the catastrophic flooding in Texas caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Contractor Accused of Violating Ohio Consumer Protection Laws

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)— Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a consumer protection lawsuit against a Columbus-based general contractor accused of failing to deliver promised home improvement services. 

The lawsuit accuses Weylin Stewart of Leadway General Contracting and Construction Managment, Inc. of taking an estimated $30,000 from consumers but failing to complete work, provide requested refunds, and, in some cases, performing shoddy work.  Read full story
