Knox County: Construction Update for the Week of June 3, 2024

Jacksontown, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Knox County. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 657

State Route 657 culvert replacement – Beginning Monday, June 3, SR 657 will be closed north of Lock Rd for a culvert replacement for approximately four days. Detour: SR 657 to U.S. 62 to SR 37 to U.S. 36 to SR 657 and reverse.

State Route 229/State Route 308

State Route 229/State Route 308/Laymon Road roundabout project – This project includes construction of roundabout at the intersection of SR 229/SR 308/Laymon Road and shared use pathway along SR 308 between SR 229 and Ward Street within Village of Gambier. Estimated completion is November 2024.

New impacts: Beginning Monday, June 3, the intersection of SR 229/SR 308/Laymon Road will close to traffic for construction of a roundabout. Detour: SR 13 to U.S. 36 to U.S. 62. Estimated completion is November 15, 2024.
