23 Found Guilty in Mount Vernon Municipal Court

 

MOUNT VERNON –Judge John Thatcher found 23 guilty after arraignments, hearings, and trials that were held in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.

 

December 19

•Taylor Huggins, 20 of Danville, was found guilty of Prohibitions Concerning Companion Animals. The Court sentenced her to serve 90 days in jail, with 80 days suspended, and placed her on two years of probation.
•Bradley Karr, 22 of Coshocton, was found guilty of Having Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention and complete 25 hours of community control, and suspended his operator’s license for 90 days.
•John George, 46 of Granville, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.
•Jeffrey Blahnik, 41 of Mansfield, was found guilty of Having Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention.
•David Buker, 27 of Coshocton, was found guilty of Having Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control, and suspended his operator’s license for 180 days.
•William Evans, 35 of Centerburg, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 174 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention and complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.
•Tyler Stoller, 25 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence. He will be sentenced on January 23, 2023 following a pre-sentence investigation.

December 20

•Amy Hahler, 38 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $50 fine.
•Kyle Thompson, 28 of Columbus, was found guilty of Selling Alcohol to an Underage Person. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation.
•Anthony Drye, 24 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Operating a Vehicle with Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge and a $25 fine for the Expired plates charge.
•Christina Culpepper, 41 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Reinstate her License and Not Wearing a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine for the Failure to Reinstate charge and a $30 fine for Not Wearing a Seatbelt.
•Carlos Hickman, 77 of Dresden, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine.
•Michael Doup, 23 of Danville, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
•Colton Bowers, 24 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Falsification. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment and complete 20 hours of community service.
•Erick Sharpe, 54 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Public Indecency. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine.
•Cody Lewis, 29 of Howard, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of a Drug of Abuse and Failing to Reinstate his Operator’s License. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge and to pay a $250 fine for the Failure to Reinstate charge.
•Mary Dickerson, 57 of Bellville, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.
•Seth Ault, 21 of Newark, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.
•Jennifer Waller, 46 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an OVI/ALS Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine, serve three days in jail, and suspended her operator’s license for 30 days.
•Robyn Villers, 40 of Killbuck, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle without a Valid Operator’s Permit. The Court sentenced her to serve three days in jail.
•David Doering, 56 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Telecommunications Harassment on November 8, 2022. Today he was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.
•James Boysel, 60 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Aggravated Menacing. He will be sentenced on January 17, 2023 following a pre-sentence investigation.
Assistant Director of Law, Steve Potts, represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Drye and Hickman cases, the State of Ohio in the Hahler, Thompson, and Culpepper cases, and the Village of Danville in the Doup case.
Director of Law, Rob Broeren, represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in the remaining cases.

 

December 21

•Jeffrey Ziegler, 67 of Edgewood KY, was found guilty of speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.
Assistant Law Director, Steven Thomas D. Potts represented the State of Ohio in the above case.
