The Mt. Vernon plant is part of the Insulation Systems Business manufacturing ProPink, unbonded loose fill. It has approximately 40 employees, operates 24/7, 365.

Job Function: Ensure the operating integrity of the Mt. Vernon plant including troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and installing plant equipment. Candidates support the plant in achieving its safety, productivity, and quality goals and objectives by troubleshooting process problems and repairing their equipment causes. Additionally, he/she will assist production personnel as needed to provide instruction related to safe and productive equipment operation, control process upsets, and to mitigate emergencies. Candidates work in a team-based, self-managed operation with high levels of team interaction to effectively solve problems, perform production level maintenance, and utilize electronic driven production systems.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Strictly adhere to all plant safety practices, codes, procedures, and programs.
  • Communicate with other plant personnel to identify, diagnose, and repair equipment problems and process upsets.
  • Possess working knowledge of the Maintenance Work Order System. Complete work as instructed in Work Orders, obtain assistance as needed.
  • Possess working knowledge of the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance System. Read and understand PM Task Job Steps. Accurately complete work as instructed, record required measurements, and identify and respond to PM deficiencies.
  • Perform root cause analysis to include trend analysis, machine deterioration analysis, and vibration analysis.
  • Complete the paperwork and computer notations associated with Work Orders, PMs, Parts Requisitions, Scheduling, and other maintenance processes.
  • Identify required parts and supplies and utilize the ordering process to obtain them.
  • Respond to plant process emergencies and safety emergencies
  • Be knowledgeable of the production process and the roles that the major pieces of equipment play in making quality product.
  • Actively participate in work teams and committees that are established to increase the plant’s performance
  • Identify and eliminate waste in processes, procedures, and all other areas of the plant
  • Assist with bulk unloading of raw materials.
  • Rebuild complex mechanical equipment such as valves, pumps, fiberizers, etc.
  • Perform very complex rebuilds of and modify all plant systems and individual equipment.
  • Perform complex welding and basic pipefitting as well as hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Perform complex electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Read and interpret complex electrical schematics.
  • Perform complex control system troubleshooting and repairs, including PLCs. Read and interpret control schematics.
  • Regularly inspect the work area to ensure all safety policies and practices are followed and a high degree of industrial housekeeping is maintained at all times.

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree a plus.

 

Preferred Experience:

3-5 years industrial mechanical experience

3-5 years industrial electrical experience

 

Required Travel: 5-10% travel may be required
