December 9
Deputies responded to a call regarding a civil matter. Deputies arrived at the scene of the call located on North Sandusky Street. Deputies made contact with the complainant. The complainant filled out a statement form and was advised a statement was filed to document the incident.

Deputies received a call regarding lost and found property. Deputies arrived at an address on Mount Gilead Road and spoke with the complainant. Deputies recovered the lost property and collected a statement form.

A complainant advised her juvenile daughter was being asked to send pornographic images of herself to another male on social media. A report was taken on the complainant’s behalf for documentation.

Deputies responded to a call regarding a possible suicide. Deputies arrived at the complainant’s residence located on Apple Valley Drive. Deputies arrested a male subject for domestic violence.  Deputies also collected photos of the victim and a statement form.

Deputies were dispatched to a call involving a male who had made suicidal comments. After speaking with the individual he agreed to go to Knox Community Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Nothing further at this time.

December 10
A complainant called the Sheriff’s Office to report a stolen license plate. The plates were entered into LEADs (Law Enforcement Automated Data System) as stolen.

A Deputy was dispatched to a residence on Shipley Road in reference to a fraud. The victim reported that they had fallen for an Internet scam and lost $4,405.00. A report was filed to document the incident.

A Deputy was dispatched to Walnut Aly and Lundy Lane in Mount Liberty on the complaint of vehicles being parked in the Alley blocking traffic. Contact was made with the owner of the vehicles; they were told that they have until Monday, December 12, 2022, to remove the vehicles or they would be towed.

Deputies responded to a Nashville Road residence on a report a female at the residence had accidentally caused minor injury to herself. A report to document the incident was taken.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for speeding on Coshocton Road near Brush Run Road. Drugs were observed inside the vehicle and it was searched. Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and another suspected controlled substance were seized. The driver was issued a citation for speeding and a summons in lieu of arrest for having open containers inside the vehicle. The passenger was in possession of drugs which will need further testing.

December 11
Deputies responded to a call regarding an individual going through a crisis state. Deputies arrived at the complainant’s address located on King Beach Drive. The complainant was advised a report
would be filed to document the incident. Deputies collected a witness statement and referred an individual to behavioral health.

A complainant arrived at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report a domestic violence. Deputies spoke with the complaint and filed a report on their behalf.

Deputies responded to a call on Columbus Road of a suspicious person. During the call, it was determined the individual was perhaps in possession of a stolen vehicle. Deputies apprehended the suspect, Randall Johnston, when they were made aware of an active warrant out of Knox County for his arrest. The suspect, Randy Johnston, was also arrested for felony possession of dangerous drugs and was incarcerated with no bond in the Knox County Jail pending his initial court appearance.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for a moving violation. During the course of the investigation, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun were found after a probable cause search. The illegal items were seized and the incident is under further investigation.

Deputies made contact with a vehicle that was parked in Wolf Run Park after hours. While making contact with the vehicle criminal indicators were observed from a male driver and a male passenger in the vehicle. Criminal tools were also observed inside the vehicle. Both parties in the vehicle were questioned by Deputies and an admission of criminal activity that was afoot was obtained by the driver. The criminal tools inside the vehicle were seized as evidence and both parties were placed under arrest. Search incident to arrest, illegal narcotics were located on the driver inside the vehicle. Charges are pending through Mount Vernon Common Pleas Court.

December 12
Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on Bridge Street in Howard, Ohio. An individual was taken from the scene for medical evaluation and items taken to the Sheriff’s Office to be placed into evidence. A report of the incident was taken.
