Brown Announces $500,000 for Ohio Small Businesses

Funding Will Support Small Ohio Businesses and Strengthen Opportunities for Export Growth to Compete in Global Markets

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 20, 2022 – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded a $500,000 grant to the state of Ohio to help small businesses increase their exports. Funding will be used to help Ohio entrepreneurs compete in the growing global economy by providing resources to be successful exporting their goods around the world.

“We know that Ohio small businesses and their workers can compete with anyone in the world, with the right support and resources,” said Brown. “This award will enable more Ohio small businesses to expand, and will lead to more products stamped ‘made in Ohio’ and exported around the globe.”

SBA is a cabinet-level federal agency dedicated to small business improvement and success. It has a mission to ignite change and spark action so small businesses can start, grow, expand, and recover their companies.
