Offenses

August 24
An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of North Sandusky Street in reference to a theft. Nothing further at this time.

A business on Fairmont Avenue reported a theft from a company vehicle. The vehicle was parked outside when the theft occurred on the business property. No suspects at this time. A report has been filed.

An officer responded to the 900 block of West Chestnut Street in reference to a theft. This incident is currently under investigation.

Units were called to West Chestnut Street in reference to a male being assaulted.

August 25
An officer was dispatched to 5 North Gay Street (MVPD) in reference to a theft report. The complainant advised that a Bird Scooter was inside a residence. The scooter was later found disassembled and damaged inside a Mount Vernon residence. This report will be sent to the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

An officer was dispatched to Prospect Street for a suspicious person.

August 26
An officer was patrolling the area of South Main Street and Columbus Road. The officer observed a male sleeping on a park bench near the bike path at C.A. & C. Depot at 501 South Main Street. The officer made contact with Thomas B. Ward and advised him that he was not allowed on the depot property after business hours. Dispatched advised the officer that Thomas has a warrant out of Knox County. Thomas was secured in handcuffs, in the rear position, gapped appropriately, and double-locked. Thomas was searched and placed in the back seat of the officer’s patrol car. While searching Thomas and his property, drug paraphernalia was located. Thomas was transported to the Knox County Jail where he was incarcerated. The officer issued Thomas two summons in lieu of arrest for drug paraphernalia.

August 27
Units were dispatched to Memorial Park located at 255 Mount Vernon Avenue for a domestic dispute. Statements were collected and a report was taken. Nothing further.

An officer responded to Monroe Street for someone trespassing on the complainant’s property. The officer was able to identify the suspect and issue her a summons for criminal trespass with a court date of 09-06-2022.

August 28
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Whiteheirs Stree for a burglary. The incident is currently under investigation.

Units were dispatched to the 300 block of North Mulberry Street for a person hitting golf balls on West Burgess Street. A report was taken. Nothing further.

August 29
A female who was visiting from out of town reported that her vehicle was damaged while it was parked at an apartment complex on McGibney Road. No suspects at this time. A report has been filed.

An officer was dispatched to a vandalism complaint on West Chestnut Street. Charges for criminal mischief were issued for Donald Kennedy.

An officer responded to a theft complaint on Coshocton Avenue.

August 25
Joshua Foreman was charged with assault.
Karraghan Peters was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Jonathon Hinger was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was cited for operator/chauffeur license required and signal before changing course.
Ashley R. Stacy was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Kayley L. Wiles was cited for expired license plates.
Kayla M. Kuntz was cited for drive onto road/duty to yield.
Mark J. McFadden was cited for fictitious plates.
Gianna Frankenstein was cited for expired license plates.

August 26
Katherine Monroe was charged with open container, OVI- refuse chemical test, OVI-under the influence, and was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Thomas B. Ward was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Dustin R. Carpenter was cited for expired license plates.

August 27
William J. Waits was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Alan S. Keegan was cited for DUS 12-point suspension
Jordan Martinez was cited for expired license plates.

August 28
Lindsay Jefferson was charged with disorderly conduct.
