Offenses

August 17
An officer was dispatched to the Mount Vernon Police Department for a female on stating wanting to report a stolen bike.

Units were dispatched to take a theft report. A male stated that his book bag was stolen while visiting a Public Square location on August 13, 2022 around 7:00 PM. A report was taken. Nothing further.

An officer was dispatched to Oak Drive for a disturbance.

An officer responded to the 400 block of Walnut Street in reference to a disturbance. This incident will be forwarded to the Prosecutor for further review.

Units were dispatched to the 1500 block of North Mulberry Street in reference to a domestic violence. No involved party was injured. One male was transported to Mid Ohio Health in Mansfield for evaluation.

August 18
An officer responded to Shirley Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the complainant that reported a male was making threats toward them and waving a stick around. Shawn Caudill was subsequently arrested for aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct intoxication. Shawn was transported to the Knox County Jail.

An officer responded to a theft complaint on Old Delaware Road.

An officer spoke to an individual on a recorded line at the Mount Vernon Police Department in reference to a theft. This incident is currently under investigation and a report was taken.

An officer spoke to a female at the Mount Vernon Police Department in reference to a stalking issue. An investigation continues.

Units responded to the 800 block of West Chestnut Stree in reference to a domestic violence. This incident will be forwarded to the Prosecutor for further review.

August 19
Delano Best was arrested for domestic violence, assault and aggressive menacing.

Units were dispatched to Knox Community Hospital (KCH) at 1330 Coshocton Avenue for a combative male. The male was transported to the Knox County Jail and charged with disorderly conduct inside a medical facility.

Units were dispatched to the 600 block of West Vine Street for a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, units made contact with the female victim who advised the male suspect had left prior to the officer’s arrival. A report was taken.

August 20
An officer responded to the 100 block of East Vine Street in reference to an assault. This incident will remain closed/unresolved until further information becomes available.

A theft from a vehicle was reported on Florence Street. A wallet, driver’s license, credit card, social security card, Insurance card and gift cards were reported stolen. The passenger side window of the Volkswagen was broken out throughout the early morning hours of the 20th of August. It was believed that a bike was used as the trail was seen in the wet grass. There is nothing further to report at this time. If further information is learned this report will be supplemented.

Units responded to Ridgewood Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance. Charges were filed on a male subject.  Nothing further at this time.

An officer received a call on a recorded line at the Mount Vernon Police Department in reference to a stolen vehicle. The vehicle will be entered into LEADS as stolen.

August 21
A male who lives on West Vine Street reported that a female, who was later identified as Christina Garretson, was trespassing on his property. Christina was later found and was issued a summons for criminal trespassing ORC. 2911321A1. A report was filed.

an officer was dispatched to Marma Drive in reference to a disturbance. Nothing further at this time.
